For operators
Operators usually need a smaller first block than the one they were quoted elsewhere.
The morning has the scope hidden in it.
Describe the morning, not the strategy.
An operator’s note is strongest when it follows one item. A referral scan. An order email. A group enquiry. A price list that changed and never reached the site. Tell us where it starts, who touches it, and where it is supposed to end. That trace decides whether the block is a single workflow, document processing, a connection, or support.
You usually do not need a new system of record. You need the current one to receive a cleaner input, and a person to see the item that failed. Say which system your floor already trusts. We will not ask them to trust a second list.
Monthly support or care is the right second block when the first one has shipped and the chat is still busy. It is the wrong first block when nobody has seen the system. Launch watch is the short project block for the fortnight after go-live, when the breaks are expected and heavier.
If a vendor has proposed a platform, put that proposal in the note and say what the floor would actually stop doing. If the answer is “nothing this quarter”, the platform is not the first hour.
